Denmark Place Memorial

A virtual memorial was added to the grounds of the Latin American Heritage Month Expo 2021 to commemorate the lost souls who perished in the tragic Denmark Place fire that took place on the 19th of August 1980.

The fire, caused by arson, killed 37 people of eight nationalities, most of whom were Spanish or Latin American.

2021 marked the 41st anniversary of this tragic incident, which is a somber part of our communities history in the UK
